Description

Ingredients

  • 1 baguette or Italian bread, sliced in half lengthwise
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 medium tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella or parmesan cheese (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
  2. Place the bread halves on a baking tray, cut side up.
  3. In a small bowl, mix olive oil and minced garlic.
  4. Brush the garlic oil evenly over the bread.
  5. In another bowl, combine chopped tomatoes, basil, salt, and pepper.
  6. Spoon the tomato mixture evenly over the bread.
  7. Sprinkle cheese on top if using.
  8. Bake for 12โ€“15 minutes until the bread is crispy and edges are golden.
  9. Slice and serve warm.
