Description
A flavorful garlic bread topped with fresh tomatoes, basil, and olive oil, perfect as an appetizer or side dish.
Ingredients
- 1 baguette or Italian bread, sliced in half lengthwise
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 medium tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella or parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
- Place the bread halves on a baking tray, cut side up.
- In a small bowl, mix olive oil and minced garlic.
- Brush the garlic oil evenly over the bread.
- In another bowl, combine chopped tomatoes, basil, salt, and pepper.
- Spoon the tomato mixture evenly over the bread.
- Sprinkle cheese on top if using.
- Bake for 12โ15 minutes until the bread is crispy and edges are golden.
- Slice and serve warm.
Notes
- Use cherry tomatoes for a sweeter flavor.
- For extra crunch, broil for the last 1โ2 minutes.
