Description
Sticky garlic chicken noodles tossed in a sweet and savory sauce with tender chicken and slurp-worthy noodles, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 12 oz egg noodles or lo mein noodles
- 1 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 tbsp honey or brown sugar
- 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Sesame seeds, optional for garnish
Instructions
- Cook noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- Toss chicken with cornstarch, salt, and black pepper.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add chicken and cook until golden and cooked through; remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- In a small bowl, whisk soy sauce, honey, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
- Pour sauce into the skillet and simmer for 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return chicken to the skillet and toss to coat.
- Add cooked noodles and toss until evenly coated and sticky.
- Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- Use dark soy sauce for deeper color if desired.
- Adjust sweetness or spice to taste.
- Add vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas for extra texture.
