Description
Soft, thick, bakery-style chocolate cookies loaded with colorful M&M candies for a rich, chewy, chocolatey treat.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups M&M candies (plus extra for topping)
- 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs and vanilla extract; mix until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add dry mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Fold in M&M candies and chocolate chips if using.
- Scoop dough into balls (about 2 tbsp each) and place on baking sheet. Press a few extra M&M’s on top.
- Bake 9–11 minutes, or until edges are set but centers look slightly soft.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- Chilling the dough for 30 minutes prevents spreading.
- Use mini M&M’s for extra color distribution.
- Do not overbake—cookies firm up as they cool.
