Description

Soft, thick, bakery-style chocolate cookies loaded with colorful M&M candies for a rich, chewy, chocolatey treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups M&M candies (plus extra for topping)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract; mix until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until a soft dough forms.
  6. Fold in M&M candies and chocolate chips if using.
  7. Scoop dough into balls (about 2 tbsp each) and place on baking sheet. Press a few extra M&M’s on top.
  8. Bake 9–11 minutes, or until edges are set but centers look slightly soft.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • Chilling the dough for 30 minutes prevents spreading.
  • Use mini M&M’s for extra color distribution.
  • Do not overbake—cookies firm up as they cool.
