Description

Reuben Balls with Spicy Sauce are crispy, golden-fried bites filled with corned beef, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese, served with a bold and tangy dipping sauce for the ultimate appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups cooked corned beef, finely chopped
  • 1 cup sauerkraut, drained and squeezed dry
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise (for sauce)
  • 1 tbsp ketchup (for sauce)
  • 1 tsp hot sauce (for sauce)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (for sauce)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, cream cheese, garlic powder, and black pepper until combined.
  2. Form mixture into small balls and place on a tray.
  3. Coat each ball in flour, dip in beaten eggs, then roll in breadcrumbs.
  4. For extra crispiness, repeat egg and breadcrumb coating.
  5. Heat oil in a deep pan to 175°C (350°F).
  6. Fry balls in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  8. In a small bowl, whisk mayonnaise, ketchup, hot sauce, and Dijon mustard to make the spicy sauce.
  9. Serve warm with dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Ensure sauerkraut is very dry to prevent soggy filling.
  • Freeze balls for 20 minutes before frying to help hold shape.
  • Air fry at 200°C (400°F) for 8–10 minutes as a lighter option.
