Description

Crispy fried shrimp tossed in a sweet and spicy hot honey glaze, perfect as an appetizer or main dish.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 12 tbsp hot sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp red chili flakes


Instructions

  1. Pat the shrimp dry and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. In one bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, paprika, and garlic powder.
  3. In another bowl, whisk eggs with buttermilk.
  4. Dip shrimp into the egg mixture, then dredge in the flour mixture until well coated.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry shrimp in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove shrimp and drain on paper towels.
  8. In a small saucepan, warm honey, butter, hot sauce, and chili flakes until combined.
  9. Toss fried shrimp in the hot honey sauce until evenly coated.
  10. Serve immediately while hot and crispy.
