Description
An elegant Christmas-style baked salmon inspired by Gordon Ramsay, featuring citrus, herbs, and butter for a festive and flavorful centerpiece.
Ingredients
- 1 whole salmon side (about 2–2.5 lb), skin on
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced
- 1 orange, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, finely sliced
- 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, cut into small cubes
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- Optional: capers for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking tray with parchment paper and place the salmon skin-side down.
- Rub salmon with olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
- Spread Dijon mustard lightly over the flesh.
- Arrange lemon and orange slices over the salmon.
- Scatter garlic, dill, and parsley evenly on top.
- Dot the salmon with butter cubes.
- Cover loosely with foil and bake for 15 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake an additional 10–12 minutes until just cooked through.
- Rest 5 minutes, garnish with capers if desired, and serve.
Notes
- Do not overcook to keep salmon moist.
- Pairs well with roasted vegetables or potatoes.
