Description
A giant chocolate chip cookie baked like a pie with crisp edges and a soft, gooey center, perfect for sharing and serving warm with ice cream.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Optional: vanilla ice cream for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch pie dish or oven-safe skillet.
- In a bowl, whisk melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Add egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract; mix well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Stir dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Press dough evenly into the prepared pie dish.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until edges are set and center is slightly soft.
- Cool for 10 minutes before slicing.
- Serve warm, optionally topped with vanilla ice cream.
Notes
- Do not overbake for a gooey center.
- Let cool slightly to help slices hold together.
- Can be reheated briefly before serving.
