Description

This Easy Parmesan Chicken Pasta is a creamy, comforting dish made with tender chicken, al dente pasta, and a rich Parmesan sauce. It’s quick to prepare, family-friendly, and perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz pasta (penne, fettuccine, or rotini)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add chicken, season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder, and cook for 5–7 minutes until golden and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté minced garlic for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Stir in Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and crushed red pepper flakes. Simmer for 3–5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Add cooked pasta and chicken to the sauce, tossing to coat evenly.
  7. Simmer for another 2–3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley and extra Parmesan cheese before serving.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best flavor and smooth sauce texture.
  • Substitute heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter version.
  • Add vegetables like spinach or broccoli for extra nutrition.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
