Description

Comforting crockpot chicken and Bisquick dumplings made with tender shredded chicken, vegetables, and fluffy dumplings simmered in a creamy broth.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup carrots, sliced
  • 1 cup celery, sliced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp poultry seasoning
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 2 cups Bisquick baking mix
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • Optional: fresh parsley for garnish


Instructions

  1. Add chicken, chicken broth, carrots, celery, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and poultry seasoning to the crockpot.
  2. Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours until chicken is tender.
  3. Remove chicken, shred it, and return it to the crockpot.
  4. Stir in the cream of chicken soup.
  5. In a bowl, mix Bisquick and milk until just combined.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dumpling dough onto the hot soup mixture.
  7. Cover and cook on HIGH for 45–60 minutes until dumplings are cooked through.
  8. Garnish with parsley if desired and serve warm.

Notes

  • Do not lift the lid while dumplings are cooking.
  • Use halal-certified chicken and soup if required.
  • For thicker broth, remove lid for the last 15 minutes.
