Description
Chocolate Cherry Pancakes are fluffy, indulgent pancakes filled with sweet cherries and rich chocolate chips, perfect for a decadent breakfast or brunch treat.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 2 tbsp melted butter or oil
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup fresh or frozen cherries, chopped
- 1/3 cup chocolate chips
- Butter or oil for cooking
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Fold in chopped cherries and chocolate chips.
- Heat a lightly greased skillet over medium heat.
- Pour about 1/4 cup batter onto the skillet for each pancake.
- Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2–3 minutes.
- Flip and cook another 2 minutes until cooked through.
- Serve warm with syrup, extra cherries, or whipped cream.
Notes
- Do not overmix to keep pancakes fluffy.
- If using frozen cherries, thaw and drain excess moisture.
- Add a sprinkle of powdered sugar for presentation.
