Description

Chocolate Cherry Pancakes are fluffy, indulgent pancakes filled with sweet cherries and rich chocolate chips, perfect for a decadent breakfast or brunch treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 2 tbsp melted butter or oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen cherries, chopped
  • 1/3 cup chocolate chips
  • Butter or oil for cooking


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  4. Fold in chopped cherries and chocolate chips.
  5. Heat a lightly greased skillet over medium heat.
  6. Pour about 1/4 cup batter onto the skillet for each pancake.
  7. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2–3 minutes.
  8. Flip and cook another 2 minutes until cooked through.
  9. Serve warm with syrup, extra cherries, or whipped cream.

Notes

  • Do not overmix to keep pancakes fluffy.
  • If using frozen cherries, thaw and drain excess moisture.
  • Add a sprinkle of powdered sugar for presentation.
