Description

Tender baked pears topped with creamy goat cheese, sweet honey, and tart dried cranberries for an elegant and easy dessert or appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 4 ripe pears, halved and cored
  • 4 oz goat cheese
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: chopped walnuts or pecans for topping


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place pear halves cut-side up in a baking dish.
  3. Brush pears lightly with olive oil or melted butter.
  4. Sprinkle with cinnamon and a small pinch of salt.
  5. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until pears are tender.
  6. Remove from oven and spoon goat cheese into the center of each pear.
  7. Top with dried cranberries.
  8. Drizzle honey over each pear.
  9. Return to oven for 5 minutes until cheese is slightly softened.
  10. Remove, add nuts if using, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use Bosc or Anjou pears for best baking results.
  • Can be served as a dessert or a light appetizer.
  • Substitute maple syrup for honey if desired.
